Chandler – 5 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Hello, my name is Chandler, I am a 5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew when my owner passed away. I am now in a foster home until I can find new lifetime home. My foster family say that I have settled in beautifully and I am the most lovely, soppy dog and a real joy to have around. I’ve had lots of walks and am absolutely fine off the lead – friendly with other dogs and people and I always come back when called.

I will expect my new guardians to provide me with a minimum of one hour off lead exercise daily in a park or open space. My foster parents took me to meet a friend’s Jack Russell who was quite annoying and yappy with me but I was very tolerant and didn’t bat an eyelid. I am very playful and love chasing after a ball, although I must admit I don’t always bring it back!

I am a very cuddly boy and love sitting on people’s laps – especially in the car! I don’t have any road sense at the moment and I am quite strong on lead but my foster mum and dad are teaching me to stop and sit when I get to a kerb and I am getting the hang of it quite quickly. I’m a bit of a snorer and like sleeping and although I would prefer to sleep upstairs, I settle down nicely in the kitchen at night. My foster mum gave me a giant bean bag as well as my bed, which I love.

I haven’t been left alone for very long but I have been good when I have been left for short periods. I really like being around people and I love my foster mum and dad and their two daughters. I also love mud and my foster mum has to wrestle me into the bath after a good play! Luckily she doesn’t mind and still says that I am an ideal family dog.

I would happily live with sensible, well behaved children, and could live with another dog providing introductions go well. My new guardians will be taking on a ten-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hope to see you soon, Chandler.
