Claude – 7 month old male Lurcher

Claude is a 7 month old rough coated Lurcher who recently came into our care from the local stray pound after being found roaming. He was a little underweight and slightly mangy. Claude is already quite a big lad standing at around 26″ and we would hasten a guess that there may be some deerhound in his make up. Claude is a beautiful boy who is currently living with 2 male lurchers, a female greyhound and a female lurcher. He gets on well with them all even though the smaller lurcher male is bullying him somewhat.

Out and about Claude is good off lead but he is run muzzled as he can still be a bit mouthy and rude with other dogs. I would imagine that Claude up to this point hasn’t had much socialisation so basic training classes would be a good idea.

Claude is fine to be left for short periods of time but does need someone around alot as he is still so young. His housetraining is coming on but he will still have the occasional accident. Claude is clean overnight if he is left in his crate which he settles well in however if left with the free run overnight he does tend to have accidents still. It would be recommended that any new home gave consideration to using a crate for a couple more months whilst he settles and gets the rest of housetraining off to a tee.

Although Claude has not yet been cat tested we do feel he would be quite interested so if he were to co exist with a cat new owners would need to be experienced in introducing cats and sighthounds already.

Claude is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and castrated.

Claude is currently in a foster home in Staffordshire.
