Cooper is a 5 year old male Labrador who has come into our care from a home who has reluctantly decided they couldn’t continue to give Cooper the life he deserves due to changes in their circumstances. He is a fit and healthy neutered boy who enjoys his walks but is not keen on the kennel environment he find himself in. We are looking for a dog experienced home for this boy who can help him overcome his nervousness towards strangers and his reported resource guarding.
Unfortunately Cooper will show negative behaviour when strangers approach and talk to him until he realises there’s nothing to be fearful of but with him being a Labrador you always have the advantage that the first thing on his mind is food so this is a major benefit to help in his future training and your bonding time.
We can talk to you in more detail about this but due to these issues he currently has we can only re home Cooper in an adult only home. Cooper has not lived with cats. He’s good with dogs we’ve seen him meet and happy to play but can be a bit boisterous at times. Basically Cooper has a nice character and just needs some training to support what he already has and he needs an owner he can bond with and give him all the guidance he needs to be a well balanced, happy dog.
