Daisie – 4 year old female Greyhound

Daisie is a stunning little 4 year old Greyhound girl who landed with us from the stray pound and is now in foster in Manchester with 2 greyhounds who she gets on well with. Daisie is an absolute sweetheart but does need an experienced confident greyhound owner as sadly she herself suffers a little with a lack of confidence. She needs other greyhounds in the home to walk with or she may get a little upset and plant herself when out and about and she gets fearful. Daisie can be a tad reactive when out to smaller dogs and prey animals such as rabbits and squirrels but most of this again is driven by uncertainty and lack of confidence all these things will come with a little patience and time and understanding. In the house Daisie is the most fabulous dog, she is clean, fine to be left and would suit full time workers with someone coming in to give the dogs a toilet break at dinner and is totally non destructive, she also travels like a dream. With children in the house she is calm and gentle and has experience with her foster carers grandchildren. She would not do well in a noisy or boisterous home though so any children need to be 6 years plus and dog savvy and understand that she may be a little wary.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
