Dan is a 7 year old male Shih Tzu. Dan is a lovely chap who is a great character. He likes familiar people and surroundings and then he’s happy-well, as happy as Dan gets. He can be wary of strangers at first but when ignored he soon wants to be friends. He’s not really a lapdog and likes to keep himself to himself. No children please as they’re too noisy and he may wake up grumpy.
Dan is fine with other dogs, with his food, treats and going for a walk with them. He lives with quite a few in his foster home. He does prefer the ladies though as he sees himself as a bit of a ladies man. Dan hasn’t been tested with cats. Although Dan likes a walk he’s also a bit of a homebird and likes to snuggle down and sleep. He is house trained and is fine to be left although he always has the company of other dogs in his foster home. He would be best in a home which doesn’t have many visitors as they may disturb his beauty sleep.
Dan does love going for a walk with his friends, lots of sniffing and exploring. He does get tired easily though so no mountain climbing please. Dan, as a bit of a Victor Meldrew would like a quiet retirement home where he can potter and sleep and go for a little walk then come back and sleep. He has been through a sad time in his life but he’s on the up now so he would like to meet his prospective new owner a few times for a cup of tea and a walk to get used to them so moving house won’t be a shock to him.
Dan is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in RCT, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Dan please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
