The most wonderful little Dash, a 4 year old Greyhound, joined us here at Greyhound Gap around about a month ago from a serious emergency welfare situation in Ireland. When he landed he was scared witless and shut down and bucked and reared at the mere hint of a lead. Having landed in greyhound nirvana though he wasnt a stupid lad, soon realised he had it made and grabbed his new found chance and ran with it. Now he is a normal, cheeky, funny, smiling fully functioning greyhound who loves his walks and adores people and other dogs! Dash is a joy to have around! Although he is 4 years of age nothing has been invested into these dogs so they are more like silly puppies. They most definitely need a home with other dogs for company and ideally someone around most of the time in the beginning to help them settle, they have so so much to learn. From feral on lead to loving lead walks he walks well in the main but does occasionally have a giddy and will need a bit more introduction to traffic but to be fair to him it really does not seem to phase him so far.
Dash travels like a dream and although here with us in kennels he is learning to keep his kennel clean, he will need a little help with his housetraining but we dont envisage it taking long he is a bright spark. Dash has also been wonderful around children and would be fine in a home with dog sensible children 6 years and upwards.
Dash is fully vaccinated including kennel cough and rabies and has a pet passport so can travel. He is also microchipped and castrated and has received a dental. We really hope this wonderful lad finds a new loving home soon as he is SO ready for the next part of his great adventure and boy in Dash’s world is everything an adventure.
Dash is currently in Stoke on Trent but can be rehomed nationwide subject to a successful homevisit and all members of the immediate family including any resident dogs being willing to travel and meet with him.
