Dax - 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Dax (ref 61d) is a rather handsome and very likeable 2 year old male brindle cross-breed. He is thought to be part Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but is much taller and longer in the leg than a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He was brought to Derby RSPCA Centre by an RSPCA Inspector.

He is very friendly towards people, though on first acquaintance he can sometimes seem a little hesitant while he sizes you up. But a lovely friendly dog is definitely what he is - and he likes few things more than playing with people, being stroked by them and being groomed by them.

If he woofs at you from his kennel, it’s only because he doesn’t understand why you are staring at him. He’s just wondering what’s going on.

Dax seems to be friendly towards other dogs, but in a rather bouncy and enthusiastic way which suggests that he may not have had much contact with them since puppyhood. He would probably be best rehomed either as the only dog in the home or possibly he could live alongside a female dog.

Like most dogs, he wouldn’t be able to live with either cats or rabbits. Dax would be suitable for a household where any children were aged 15+ and where his new owners have previous knowledge and experience of dogs. He will also need lots of walks, exercise and play, so an active household would definitely be the right place for him.

Dax currently knows at least 3 commands and could easily learn many more. He doesn’t enjoy being left on his own, so he needs a home where there is generally somebody around most of the time. Dax is a lovely, lively, warm-hearted, people-friendly creature who will make an immensely lovable addition to an active, caring, understanding and dog-loving home.
