Dexter is a 12 year old male English Springer Spaniel. Dexter came in to foster due to concerns of him becoming aggressive. He has had no issues with any aggression when in foster. Previous owners had had him since he was a puppy. Dexter is a 12-year-old dog with plenty of energy who loves walking but also loves to sit by the fire curled up on his bed sleeping. He hearing is not what it used to be so not very good on recall however will respond to commands if facing you. He lives with 5 other dogs in foster and gets on with all of them. He also live with teenagers and children visit regularly without concerns although I would suggest a home with older children that are able to understand that he cannot hear as well as other dogs he can be easily startled.
When seeing the vet he was very friendly with her and had no problems through out our visits. He loves socialising with humans and dogs alike. He is in really good health for his age although was informed he can have an upset stomach on certain food. Continued him on the food he has had for many years without concerns. He is not castrated and advise from the vets was to leave him due to his age as there is no other health concerns.
He knows basic commands and loves companion of humans. He can pull a bit on the lead however does settled down as the walk continues. He loves his treats and has no problem at feeding time (other then barking to let you know not to forget him). He is a fantastic dog with plenty of love and loyalty to give a new family.
Dexter is not neutered (on vets advice) but he is vaccinated chipped wormed and flead. Adoption subject to meet and greet and homecheck. This boy is stunning! Please look past his age.
