Dolly is a 3-5 year old female Cross-Breed. Dolly was rescued from the street as a tiny puppy along with her two siblings Gracie and Babe. All three traveled to the UK as soon as they were old enough to travel. Dolly and Gracie were adopted together shortly after they arrived and returned to rescue together two and a half years later after the breakdown of their adopters relationship.
Sadly during the time they had been adopted they had developed some behavioural issues which their adopters had failed to deal with and as a result were returned totally unsocialised with either dogs or people.
Since their return they have been working hard to learn new rules and boundaries and now are totally different dogs from the scared, feral dogs that were handed back to us. Both love people and greet everyone (even strangers) with wagging tails and lopsided grins and like nothing better than head rubs and tummy tickles. Both dogs have also learnt how to behave around other dogs and have come on in leaps and bounds with their doggy socialisation, but their new owners will have to carry on the work and keep up the effort.
Dolly is definitely the most confident of the two and does try to dominate. She is a very loving girl and apart from food (both have been on a serious weight loss regime since they arrived back and have dropped several dress sizes) cuddles are her favourite thing in the whole world. She walks nicely on a lead once she’s settled down from her initial excitement, has basic commands, is clean in the house and is not destructive.
Dolly is a large medium and I’d guess her new weight to be about 25-26 kilos but this is 25-26 kilos of pure love. Both dogs lived with a young child in their adoptive home and I see no reason why they should not live with children again with the correct introductions and supervision. Dolly is in foster near Glasgow.
Please note a home check and suggested adoption donation will apply.
