Donna is an absolute darling who came from a trainer, sadly unwanted and surplus to requirements. She is a beautiful black girl with dainty white socks and little white freckles appearing, 4 years old and 26″ to the shoulder. Donna is the sweetest little girl who adores people, strokes and cuddles and is also very happy and calm. Her foster Mum says that she has just begun to play with squeaky toys and is always a joy to be around, a real little ray of sunshine whose tail never stops wagging! Be quick to apply for this sweetie as she really is a little gem.
Donna is a super friendly and affectionate girl with no issues and will make someone very happy and could be a perfect first time hound. She is adorable and loves to meet new people with a big waggy tail and will never say no to being stroked and loved. She is also a very clever girl who responds quickly to training and guidelines, the only exception being if you leave anything tasty on the side in the kitchen and no-one is looking as she is a little piggy!! She is confident, calm, clever and is guaranteed to make you smile every day! Donna is great in the home and has pretty much been clean from day one and will ask to go out. She sleeps through the night with no problems and is a joy to be around. She can also be left for a few hours with other canine company. She is very mannerly except from when you leave something yummy on the kitchen surfaces when she will turn into a very discreet and petite counter surfer!
Donna is very good with other dogs and is currently living happily with 3 other Greyhounds and a Jack Russell Terriers. Donna’s foster Mum still keeps a close eye on Donna around unknown small dogs although she has been very good indeed. Unfortunately she is not cat friendly or small furry friendly so no rabbits or guinea pigs please. She really enjoys meeting other dogs out and about and finds it hard not to say hello! The only time she has been known to grumble has been when she has been asleep in her bed and another dog has bumped or disturbed her so she does love her bed and sleep space! This girlie adores going for walks and is currently having approximately two 1 hour walks a day although her foster Mum feels she would be fine with less or more. She is beautifully behaved on the lead although she will pull for a second or two if she sees a small furry but will settle again very quickly.
Donna is also very calm near traffic and is great in the car. We also feel that once Donna has properly bonded with her new family she will be able to go off lead in a secure area away from public roads and livestock, and will be easily trainable with her recall as she loves treats and food so much! In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
We feel Donna would suit most homes as she doesn’t appear to be phased by much in life and settled into being in a home environment very quickly. She really does love people so ideally a home/family with someone at home most of the time and/or at least one other dog for company would be ideal. Donna is currently living with her foster mum in Suffolk. She can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home-checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect her. Donna will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flead and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. Please also be aware that we do not rehome dogs to families with children under 8 years of age.
