Dottie is a 3 year old female French Bulldog. Dottie has come to us to find a new home through no fault of her own. She truly is an adorable little lady who would benefit from a quieter home. Dottie has a slight impingement on her spinal chord which causes periods of hind leg weakness. We have x rayed her and discussed at length with the vets to see if there were any surgical options for her, sadly there is nothing we can do and her condition will need to be managed. Currently she is pain free and doing well in foster, when she has a flare up, Dottie needs rest and pain relief.
She is a little overweight and in order to ensure she remains as comfortable as possible we will be helping her to slim a little. This will hopefully help ease her back issues and let her live a longer and more comfortable life. Going forward it will be very important for new owners to continue to ensure her weight loss and then maintaining that loss.
Dottie is great with other dogs, she will need new owners who are around for most of the day, a home with older teenagers only due to her back. Small children could accidentally cause her an injury sadly. She enjoys her walks and it is important that she has regular exercise as this will help with spinal health for her.
We are happy to share her medical history with suitable applicants. Dottie has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. She has also had a Rhinoplasty to aid her breathing. Dottie is currently being fostered in Bagshot Surrey.
