Dougal – 4 year old male Akita

This is Dougal, a handsome 4 year old Akita boy in West Yorkshire who was found last spring tied to a fence next to a busy dual carriageway. Having been with the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) since April, we have all fallen head over heels for Dougal, and were all incredibly upset when Dougal displayed signs of kennel stress, and went on to lose a shocking amount of weight.

Saved by a wondeful foster home, Dougal has come on in leaps and bounds, has put on weight and has shown that despite probably having never lived in a home, he has adapted well and has been on his best behaviour. With a wonderfully gentle personality, Dougal adores affection, and loves to play, his favourite game being tug of war with a towel! Dougal has mixed a little with other dogs, however we do feel that he would be better as an only dog in the household. If Dougal could be the boy for you – please get in touch for more information!
