Duddley – 2 year old French Bulldog cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Hello my name is Duddly, I’m a 2 year old male, French Bulldog Cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London.

I am now in a foster home and my foster dad says I am a joy to have around and really live up to my nickname Cuddly Duddly! I am a warm hearted and affectionate lad who is extremely sensitive, although I settled down in my foster home really quickly. I am very clean in the house and very quiet. Once I have had a nice long walk I am happy just to doze off in my bed and I don’t demand a lot of attention. Still, I do have a zest for life and am always up for a good game. My foster dad also says that I listen when told firmly what to do and have never tried to climb on to the leather sofa again after being told just once to get off. I can be very shy and nervous when I first meet people but once I know you there’s always lots of wagging tails and friendly kisses. My new guardians will need to work on my socialisation and help build up my confidence around strangers. I love going for a walk and my favourite time is when I am let off the lead in the park and can run about exploring. I keep a watchful eye on my foster dad and come back when called. I am always on the lookout for doggy playmates and can race around for hours without getting tired. I am well-mannered with female dogs and most male dogs and love to play with them on my walks. I sometimes try to be top dog when I encounter dominant males but I’m now learning to ignore dogs who don’t want to play with me. I would however prefer to be the only dog in my new home. I love snuggling up with my foster dad and although I am at my happiest around people, I can be left alone for a couple of hours providing I’ve had a good run before hand. I also travel well on the bus and simply wait patiently at the bus-stop for it to arrive.

I am now looking for the security of a loving permanent home where someone is at home for most of the day. Any children in my new home will be over the age of sixteen years. I need experienced owners who understand my breed and will be firm but fair with me as well as giving me clear guidelines and be prepared to take me to training classes. I am full of energy and will need a minimum of one to two hours off-lead exercise daily in a park or open space, so I am not for couch potatoes. My new guardians will be taking on a thirteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly but as my foster dad says ‘I’m worth it!’ So if you’ve got lots of love to give me, I’ll give you lots of love back and will make a loyal and playful companion

I hope to see you soon.

Duddly
