Dude – 1 year old male Collie cross Pomeranian
This boy is extremely lucky to be alive! He is the twin brother of the lovely Foxy who came into my rescue about two weeks ago. Both these boys lived the first year of their lives in a pitch black barn. They had been bred by the farmers own dogs (now neutered) and left in there after his children got bored of cuddling them.

A year later they were discovered when a litter of 12 week old puppies were removed (two of these are also looking for homes – please see ‘Sonny and Cher’), but they could not get near to these boys to take them. The local dog pound were advised of them who went and trapped both of them.
Foxy was the better of the two and came over to the UK and his story in his own album and Dude was slapped with a euthanasia ticket because he was classed as feral, completely shut down and impossible to home.
It has also been discovered, that as with Foxy, Dude is on his way to being blind. He is very scared of people and will run and run to get away from you. I have great faith in him though and hope that he comes round as Foxy did.
Dude was recently returned to rescue from foster care because the carer was finding him too difficult to care for. He has settled back into the routine here very well and since being back has been a very well behaved and loving boy, as he was when he left.
He needs an owner sensitive to his needs. Someone who will show him huge amounts of patience and commitment with no rough treatment – EVER! Treating a dog badly who has spent a lifetime of being abused does him no favors and all you will get is a snappy dog. He has not tried to bite anybody whilst in my care. Dude likes to be very gently stroked around his face. He likes to be brushed and he likes to feel secure.
Dude needs an adult household, lives easily with other dogs and gets on fine with cats and small animals.
A homecheck will be carried out and minimum adoption fee applies with an agreement that if the new owner cannot keep this boy that he gets returned here with no exceptions.
Dude is fully vaccinated, microchipped, castrated, wormed and defleaed.
