Duke – 2 year old male Lurcher

Duke is a very handsome 2 year old male Lurcher who has come into our care from the inspectors. We were told he was signed over as his owner could no longer cope.He was a little underweight when he first arrived but has since put on weight and he is even more beautiful now. His coat is also in better condition.

Duke can be shy initially however he has the most lovely temperament. As is common with most lurchers, he is so very gentle, affectionate and calm. He is quite a big boy but walks beautifully on the lead and is well behaved. He does however have a strong prey drive so he must always be kept on the lead around livestock as well as small animals like cats, squirrels and rabbits which he would definitely chase.

Duke could be rehomed with children of secondary school age. He hasn’t lived with children before and young ones are likely to be too boisterous for him. We think he is better suited being an only dog. He is not to be rehomed with cats. He does seem to enjoy company so it would be in his best interests if he wasn’t left on his own for too long.
