Duque is a handsome black and tan 9 years old German Shepherd Cross standing at 26 inches tall by 43 inches long and he weighs 35kg. He is looking for a new home as his elderly adopter is going into sheltered accommodation and she cannot take pets with her. He has lived with other dogs, cats, children and even ducks before coming to the UK. Duque is 100% compatible with every animal; he is very sociable and playful. He is affectionate, calm and obedient, with a great recall. He is home-trained and doesn’t cause any mess if left alone at home. He is healthy and just gorgeous in person, he looks younger than he is and is still active.
The lady who adopted him says: “Duque hasn’t put a foot wrong since he arrived, he is clean, doesn’t chew, he is quiet and calm, good on lead and with other dogs – everything I had hoped for.” He’d be a loyal, great companion he has a lot of love to give. He trusts people instantly and lies on the floor waiting for a belly rub as soon as he sees you! He loves being groomed and is always happy to be taken outside for a walk. He’s very healthy for his age, still active and just gorgeous in person.
Duque arrived to the pound in Mieres, Spain, in 2014. He had been abandoned and we don’t know anything about his past. He spent 3 long years at the pound until he was fostered in Christmas of 2017and he was very popular with all the volunteers there. In his foster home he lived with other dogs, cats, children and even ducks for 7 months before coming to the UK. So Duque was finally adopted!
However, sadly, just a few days later, his new owner, an elderly lady, was offered a council flat in a complex with no garden and she asked me to find him a new home.
