Ebony – 2 year old female Lurcher

This is the beautiful Ebony who originally came to us last year. She left for a new home a few months ago to live in a mixed pack. Sadly one of the female dogs in the house a Jack Russell terrier having accepted her to begin with, decided she did not like her and started to bully her. Poor Ebony is not a fighter or pushy dog and this caused her to become more and more withdrawn from the pack. Ebony is now currently in foster in the Cheshire area with a male and female lurcher and 4 cats all of whom she gets on with well. Ebony is a very gentle girl who still has slightly nervous tendencies from time to time. She enjoys being with other dogs and likes to play chase, however when she is chased she can get a little worried.

Ebony definitely needs to be rehomed with other dogs, preferably steady sighthounds and we will not risk putting her back into an environment with another bossy female and risk her becoming worried again. Although Ebony is good with kids she would not like a noisy environment so we feel older children 10 plus would be best. Ebony travels well, walks well on lead and is good off lead. She is housetrained but does still have the occasional accident overnight in the kitchen as she occasionally seems to need the toilet about 5am and if this is missed may go. Ebony is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and spayed.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
