Electra and Nova – 5 year old and 11 month old female Cross-Breeds

Electra and Nova are 5 year old and 11 month old female Cross-Breeds. What a lovely pair! This is a very special Mum and daughter duo who desperately want to stay together. Lovely Electra (golden coat) is Mum, she was born in 2013, little Nova (black coat) is her daughter, born in 2017. Electra and Nova were rescued from an illegal pound in Spain, where they had lived for their whole lives, never going out or getting any vet care. They weren’t used to people or being in a house, but they both adapted very well to their foster home. Electra is a medium sized girl and she stands at 45 cm high (withers), 65 cm long (nose-bottom), and weighs 11 kg. Nova is a small girl and stands at 37 cm high (withers), 55 cm long (nose-bottom), and weighs just 9 kg.

Electra, the Mom, is the loveliest dog you can imagine. She is extremely affectionate and will follow you around the house. She is wary of men though, and will bark at strange men or visitors at first until she knows them and trusts them. With women it’s all love from the first moment. It’s just barking, nothing else. She is a classic lap dog, just wants human company; but she needs a little time to trust people, it can go from a few hours to a day. She wants to be hugged and cuddled constantly. She is always paying attention to where her person is; she doesn’t lose sight of her person. Her recall is excellent, she runs to you after just one call, and Nova just follows her everywhere so both of them come easily when called.

Nova is still scared. She likes to be on the sofa next to people, but if you try to pet her she will leave. She also follows people, but at a safety distance, and likes some soft head rubs when she is in her bed, but she still doesn’t trust people. She doesn’t bark or bite, she just freezes or leaves if someone tries to touch her, but she is not aggressive at all, she has never bitten anyone. Nova always follows her Mom around, she is very dependent of her, so if you call Electra she will also come next to her. They are inseparable and we hope that with time and patience Nova will learn to trust people just like her Mom.

Fosterer’s report: After 4 months at their foster home, Nova finally accepts head rubs without fear, so we know that it’s possible for her although she needs time. They are fostered with 5 other dogs of all sizes and breeds and they are very sociable with all of them, they don’t mind other dogs at all. They don’t play with bigger dogs, they prefer to play with dogs of their same size. They both walk very well on a lead together and they don’t pull at all. They are both home-trained and can be left alone for a few hours, they don’t make any mess or bark. They are very calm at home. This is the cage they lived in for many years, before being rescued.

Current location is in a foster home in Spain can travel to the UK once they have a home to go to. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, Spayed, Microchipped, Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance to be activated from the link on our website, Any known health issues NONE KNOWN.

For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough. Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £275 each dog – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account.
