Beautiful Elias is a wonderful English Springer Spaniel cross Red Setter who is almost 3 years old. Elias has come on leaps and bounds since he was first rescued and needs a dedicated, loving and patient home who can continue training him to help him reach his full potential. Elias was saved from a woman with hoarding syndrome, she had kept him and one other dog tied to a bed and passed away, leaving the dogs stuck in the room for four days without food or water. They were then seized by the police and dumped in the pound to die.
When he arrived in foster, he couldn’t be touched and would run away from people. He surprised us all by only taking a few days to get over this initial fear, and once he had learned to trust us he was also fine with visitors both inside and outside the home. He is the most loving and loyal dog to anyone who is patient enough and proactive enough to get him over his fears. He will sit there for hours letting you stroke or cuddle him and if you move he’ll tap you gently with his paw to ask for more. He lives very happily with other dogs and is also fine with cats.
He would be fine with children, so long as they were respectful of him. He was sadly returned to the rescue because the adopters did not want to put time and effort into training, so whoever adopts this boy next really does need to show full commitment as that is the least this boy deserves. Elias is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, vet checked and comes with his own pet passport. He is in foster in Cheshire.
If you can offer Elias a second chance after his terrible start in life, please fill out a pre adoption questionnaire.
