Emily is a 4-5 year old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross Bichon Frise. Emily is an ex breeding girl and will only be rehomed with another calm, neutered resident dog to help with building her confidence in the home. Emily is brilliant with adults and children, she greets everyone with a waggy tail and lots of kisses. She is a very easy dog to handle, she’ll let you look in her ears and mouth and loves having her tummy tickled. She will sit and stand still for you to put her harness or jumper on. Her favourite things are sleeping on the sofa next to you and having her belly rubbed. Emily must go to a home where there is at least one other dog to help her settle in to home life. She has always lived with dogs before and presently lives with a 13 year old Lhasa Apso bitch. She is very sociable and loves to play. To our knowledge Emily hasn’t met any cats, we think she may be alright but might bark.
Emily loves toys and playing tug, she will sit when asked and wait for her food and has never shown any dominance or aggression with either. Housetraining is ongoing but she’s 99% there. You do have to watch for signs and encourage her as she doesn’t ask to go out. Emily is a little unsure when left and shows signs of separation anxiety but we’re sure she’ll settle with time and the realisation that she won’t be passed around any more. She is generally non destructive but sometimes rips up tissues for a bit of fun and once a sponge she pinched from the bathroom. She is so easy going and sleeps on the bottom of the bed.
Emily is amazing at walking on the lead and walks well. She is so keen and eager to please. She travels in a crate in the car and has greatly improved since the first journey. She is very agile and would be great at agility. She jumped onto next doors wall to say hello to the Yorkie neighbours but didn’t attempt to go over. Emily would love to have a family of her own to hug her and kiss her and have a lot of adventures. She is such a happy clever little dog with an amazing sense of fun who’ll make you laugh every day. She will need a friendly calm doggy companion to help her to relax. She needs a family who will love her and help her feel secure for the rest of her life and understand that she will need time to settle into her new home and so will need someone around for the majority of the time.
Emily is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in RCT, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Emily please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
