Fawkes – 18 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Hello, my name is Fawkes, I am an 18 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier and everyone says I am a very handsome boy. I was cruelly abandoned when I fractured my leg, I was in a lot of pain when I was finally rescued and brought to The Mayhew. The vets at the put my leg in a cast and happily it has healed nicely.

I’m currently living in a foster home building my muscles up again and am already walking for up to 25 minutes at a time. Once fully recovered I will expect a minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise in a park or open space daily. I have only been with my foster family for a short time but have already settled down and my foster mum and dad say I am a really sweet boy. I justlove everybody, and although I do bark when people come to the door as soon as I’ve said hello, I am very friendly and cuddly.

I am also very friendly with other dogs and love to play with them. I am a smart boy as well and already know sit, down, paw and am getting to grips with stay – even when there is a tasty treat right in front of me! I also settle down nicely in my basket in the bedroom at night and I am housetrained. I am a good boy when left alone and don’t bark or destroy anything.

I am looking for a loving new lifetime home with patient guardians who will take me to training classes to help improve with my manners and also because I love learning new things. As I am such a friendly boy I could live with sensible children providing they were calm with me, any young children in the household will need to be used to active dogs. I could also live with another dog if they love to play as much as I do. I need a home where I don’t have to go on long journeys as I get sick in the car although I can manage 15 minutes or so. My foster parents say I am a real character with a very cuddly nature and would make anyone a very loyal and fun-loving pet. My new guardians will be taking on a thirteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hope to see you soon, Fawkes.
