Fletcher is a 4 year old male Labrador Cross. Fletcher is a rescue from Cyprus who has been living in Linlithgow for 2 years. Due to a change in his family’s circumstances and through absolutely no fault of his own he finds himself looking for another home. Whilst we do not know Fletcher’s exact parentage, from his appearance he does seem to be a full Labrador. Fletcher is laid back and calm at home. He currently lives with another female dog but would be equally content on his own providing you had time to spend with him. He is probably best walked separately as he can get frustrated when he sees other dogs when he is on a lead. Fletcher is relaxed and easy going in the house. He loves a cuddle. He’s keen to learn and eager to please.
It’s best that he’s fed alone as being a Labrador he assumes any food put down is for him! He really loves his food. Food sharing with other dogs can be an issue. He’s best fed separately from any other dog in the household. Fletcher walks reasonably well on lead with a dogmatic head collar. He can pull a bit but calms down fairly quickly. He barks at other dogs if he’s on a lead, but off lead he is fine and plays happily with, or ignores, other dogs.
Fletcher adores all people and children. His current mum doesn’t think he could live with a cat or other small furry. He sleeps well at night on sofa or dog bed in the living room. He has used crate in the past and it wouldn’t take much to retrain him to do that again, but he doesn’t need to be in one in his current home as he is a well behaved, loving boy. Fletcher may bark a bit initially if left alone but does seem to settle down – he’s fine if he knows there’s another dog in the house. Once settled he’s fine to be left for a few hours with no issues.
Fletcher would love to find a calm home with someone around most of the day. He would love his new home to have a garden where he can relax and play safely. His default position is lying down and sleeping. He enjoys his walks and adventures with his human. Fletcher can be a bit barky on lead when he sees another dog. This can be managed but will need ongoing and consistent training. Fletcher has the kindest, soulful eyes and is such a gentle lad with his family.
