Foxy – 1 year old male Collie cross Pomeranian
Please meet Foxy who is a 1 year old male Collie cross Pomeranian. Foxy is coming in on Sunday. He is approx a year old and originally came over from Ireland about a month ago. Foxy was bred in a barn and after the age of 12 weeks old the owners children became bored of the puppies and stopped cuddling them. He then had no human contact until he was rescued from his situation, hence he is now a tad feral!
He did go to a large rescue organisation in the UK but when their vets looked at him they confirmed that he was blind and felt that his rehoming prospects were bleak, which then meant that his future was bleak in general. We were asked to take Foxy and we are confident that there is a home out there for him and just because he is scared of people doesn’t mean that anything should happen to him. The fact he is blind should also not mean that he is not deserving of a home – we have homed many blind dogs who are perfectly happy!
Foxy can be homed with other dogs, but he will need an extremely secure gard en and a very understanding owner. It may be that this dog cannot be walked for months and it is likely that he will need to stay on lead in case he gets frightened and lost when he does gain his confidence. Foxy will be able to live with cats, but he cannot be homed with children as the noise may scare him.
