Freddie – 9 week old male Collie cross Cocker Spaniel
Freddie is gorgeous 9 week old Cocker Spaniel cross Collie who is really a perfect pup. He is full of fun and mischieviousness and always makes you laugh. Freddie has cataracts in both eyes, he can see shadows and light only, our vet says this may stay the same or may deteriorate with time. But you would hardly know that he is partially sighted, this however does need to be taken into consideration when offering him a home
Unfortunately it may be that his eyesight deteriorates, I would like him to go to a home where someone is around in the day and with another dog as a companion, that way if his eyes do deteriorate he will be able to use his friend as a guide, he also loves to play with other dogs, so a dog that will not mind a puppy hanging off their ears and constantly harrassing them is a definite.
Freddie is house trained already , but you do need to take him out regularly , he sleeps in a crate at night and will sleep there happily all night. He loves children and a home with some children in to play with him and cuddle him again is something I would like for him . As he is very affectionate and loves his cuddles.
Freddie will need to go to training classes as part of his Guardianship Agreement. Anybody that gets through the adoption process will need to bring all resident dogs to meet Freddie in West Wales, due to him being partially sighted he sometimes does not see signals from dogs telling him to back off, so resident dogs will need to be totally puppy friendly. In a home willing to dedicate time and patience I think Freddie will be a perfect pet and will bring lots of joy and laughter.
