Freddy – 3 year old male Jura Hound Cross

Freddy is a 3 years old, male, Jura Hound Cross. Freddy is a rescue from Cyprus who is currently living in a foster home in Stockport. He has flown to the UK hoping to find a loving, forever home. Our handsome Freddy is a lovely, calm boy. He loves to play with toys, especially tug and he really enjoys his walks and sniffing new things. Freddy is very good on a lead, he doesn’t pull unless he sees another furry animal (dog, cat, squirrel, even a badger!) It wouldn’t hurt him to have a bit more training to walk perfectly beside you!

Freddy is really good with food and sits patiently whilst you are preparing it. He eats well. He hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression and even backs off when growled at by the resident dogs around food. He takes treats nicely too. Freddy is living with 2 other resident dogs and loves playing with the Beagle cross in the family. He snuggles up with both. However on his walks if he sees another dog he gets all excited and could do with a bit of socialisation training which his foster mum is working on with him.

Freddy loves people but hasn’t met any children yet. He is very laid back and chilled so we cannot see there being any problems. He hasn’t met any small furry pets or cats so we are not sure how he might react to them. He is fully housetrained, loves his home comforts and really enjoys cuddles from his human. Freddy sleeps in the crate during the day, however it isn’t closed. At night Freddy sleeps in his own dog bed in the bedroom, or sometimes downstairs in the crate.

Freddy does not seem bothered if anyone is there or not, but he does currently have the other dogs for company. He often he takes himself off to his crate on his own. Freddy has basic training, he knows to sit for treats and is very well behaved. He would enjoy further training if you wanted to perfect his skills, but it is not necessary. Freddy would love a home where he gets lots of love, treats and walks!
