Frisby and Maddie – 3-5 year old male Greyhound cross Collie and Whippet Cross

Frisby is around 3-4 years of age and Maddie is around 5 years of age. Maddie is on the left and is a smooth coated Whippet cross and Frisby is on the right and is Greyhound cross Collie. They need a new home due to a relationship breakdown. Maddie was originally a Gap dog although Frisby wasnt but we feel it would be beneficial if we could keep the two of them together, so if someone is looking for an already well paired couple these are your dogs.

Frisby came from a stray pound environment originally under a year old where he had been tied to the gate and abandoned and Maddie came to Gap via a stray pound. Maddie was one of the most nervous dogs that ever landed in our care but has now come on in leaps and bounds.

Both dogs are fine to be left when they are together and both have had their own hang ups making them nervous dogs, together they are much more confident but when running off leash they have to be watched as they can sometimes be over confident and pick on other dogs. However, if firmly told, they do behave. Maddies recall is almost always spot on but she is not great with small dogs however medium sized and bigger dogs including large breed puppies she gets on with very well, she is also described as small furry friendly. Frisby is in the main fine with dogs both big and small but isnt good with smaller furries and will give chase. Both would probably benefit from more basic training and would love a class environment.

Due to the fact Maddie has been nervous in the past we would prefer a home for her without young children if children were in the home we would prefer them to be dog sensible teenagers or older.
These two are quite an uncomplicated pair and just need a home together where they can be the only dogs, we think they would struggle if added as say third and fourth dogs as they would lose the bond they have. Both dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
