G Man short for Gentleman is a 7 year old male Labrador cross Pointer we think being fostered in Gloucestershire. This lovely boy is not actually a Starfish dog but the lady who is fostering him is a great support to Starfish and we help her and her group back by helping her secure a home for one of the dogs she has saved from Romania.
This lovely boy was saved from one of the what they call the death camps out there, his rescuer could not bear to leave him there as he kept putting his paw through the bars to him this is what saved his life him reaching out like this.
He is now in UK and being fostered with Aunty Janey – he is living in a house with two adults and two tiny dogs. He has settled in family life well at first was very reluctant to come into house and feel at ease but he has now decided he is fine and loves the sofa bless him. A very gentle and quiet dog I would say he has lived in a home before if not he is very knowing and has survived on his personality and charm.
Out and about on his walks he walks well on a lead and does not pull, Janey has not let him off yet. He seems to be fine with most dogs he meets but sometimes takes exceptions to some dogs. We think he would be better as an only dog, as although fine with Janey’s little dogs he seems to not like them curling up near him and when they have had visiting dogs he has taken exception to them too.
We think he has probably had a hard life and is quite an easy going laid back dog who just wants the quiet life now. He is very affectionate and greets every body he meets very politely he is not bouncy all over the place. He has a lovely temperament with everyone including the postman, a very lovely dog who is going to be someones best friend, a real character and very knowing dog with a deep soul. He is fine with being left, clean in the house, travels well in the car. No cats as the cats he has seen he has been quite keen to chase. He is vaccinated, chipped, neutered and has his own Pet Passport.
