Geordie – 16 year old male Lurcher

Geordie is a 16 year old, neutered male Lurcher. Signed over to an Inspector, Geordie has spent much of his life living mainly in the garden, his owner agreed to sign over as his health was failing making day to day care difficult. Geordie is extremely friendly, a very nice gentle natured dog, he is fine around children, but would prefer a quite household at his time of life. He would also be happy living with other dogs, but he does get a bit over excited when he meets them and will try and mount them whatever the sex.

Geordie is not suitable for homing with cats. We are unsure if he is fully housetrained, as he was mainly living in a garden, however, he was thrown out of a foster home for scent marking when he first came to us as they were unable to cope with it, this was also prior to castration, so he may have got this out of his system by now.

It was never our intention to put such an old dog through the rigours of an anesthetic but the vet strongly advised he had a dental, and also we discovered he had an extremely enlarged prostate, so he was castrated at the same time. He had blood tests taken and all is normal. Despite his age he is an active, healthy dog, who enjoys walks. Don’t assume he would prefer to outside, because he is equally happy indoors, as long as there is a garden for him to mill about in. This lovely lad really deserves to be given a second chance at his time in life.
