George – 9 year old male Terrier Cross

Please meet George who is a 9 year old male Terrier Cross dog we think there may be some Yorkie or Cairn in there some where. George is on foster in Bracknell Berkshire.

George does have a slight heart murmour but this does not require medication as yet , he also has mild cataracts , is slightly deaf and is being treated for a slight flea allergy. It is worth mentioning for vet visits or medication that he will snap if something is put in his ears so a muzzle is needed for these instances.

George is good with other dogs , he hasnt been tested with cats but has learnt in his foster home not to chase the Guinea Pigs!

George will guard treats so you must be aware that a treat that might take him some time to eat ie chew/bone would not be a good idea with children or other dogs around however he is fine with quick treats like a bit of chicken  that can be eaten in one gulp!

George can be left happily for upto 4 hours , is house trained and walks very well on the lead. He travels well in the car just curling up in his crate to sleep.

George is quite a laid back little chap. He is happy with his own company, but also very affectionate – he particularly likes his tummy rubbed. He is quite chatty and will have a conversation with you.

He would suit almost any family, but an older retired couple who can spend all day with him would be idea. Also, someone with older children, he may find younger children a bit much. I think he would be happy on his own (with human company) or with another older dog. The treats and ears issues are his only problems – other than that he is a sweet little old man.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family.
