Ginny – 5-7 year old female English Cocker Spaniel

Ginny is a 5-7 year old female English Cocker Spaniel. She would suit an adult only home with a confident, calm canine companion but would be best suited in a cat free home. Ginny is an ex-puppy farm breeding female.

Her fosterer writes:-

Ginny is a lovely dog who has come along so well since she has been in my care. She is still shy and nervous, but is  seeking affection from me all the time now and is much more comfortable around my other dogs.

Ginny needs to have a quiet dog as a companion and to teach her how to be a dog. She still isn’t overly keen on cats but may, with care, learn to live with them. She doesn’t chase them, just asks them to go away. A confident cat would probably be OK.

Ginny hasn’t as yet met children, so I feel visiting grandchildren over 8 years only would probably be best for her. Her owner should be around for most of the day, although she is fine to be left for short periods. Ginny still has so much to learn. She is scared to go out for walks, but with time and patience she will come round.

Ginny does have much to love to give and I feel sure that she will become that friend and companion that we all want in a dog. She does have a heart murmur which currently does not require medication and also dry eye for which I am giving eye drops. Ginny has now been neutered and had a dental check, so is more than ready to go to her new home.

Ginny is a fantastic little dog. She has had such a hard life until now and it is her turn to have a happy retirement in a home of her own. Please do consider her. She will make a great pet for the right person.
