Gumer is a 13 month old male Ibizan Hound (Podenco) Cross. Gumer is a very timid young tan rough coat Podenco lad. He stands at 54 cm and he weighs 13.2 kg, so he is not a large dog. He was very timid when he came into the shelter but with time and a lot of attention he has come a long way. Now when he gets to know you he loves to play and cuddle. He is good with all other dogs males and females and loves to play with them. He does not walk on the lead yet, but he is making progress.
Gumer needs his confidence bringing on and then he will need a quiet home with other dogs. Gumer was found starving, foraging on waste ground in Spain. Who knows what this boy has had to suffer in his short life. Poor Gumer cannot be cuddled properly at the moment, but he is learning to trust people again. Some of the shelter volunteers have been able to get closer to him, when spending lots of time with him and he lets them handle him now and stroke him. With one of them he even walked on the lead a bit.
Gumer is a sweet young dog. When he first came in he was terrified of everything, but with time and a lot of attention he has come a long way. The shelter are working with him to build his confidence and get this little boy to trust people and know that they will give him lots of love and not hurt him. We will update Gumers page once he has joined a foster family and as he gets more experience of new things. We hope that he will come on in leaps and bounds and will soon be in his forever home. We don’t know how Gummer feels about cats yet, but we could arrange a test. We think it’s probably best that he does not live with small children.
Current location is in Spain can travel to the UK at the end of January once he has a foster home to go to. He is vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, neutered, microchipped and has a Pet Passport.
Adoption Fee : £175– to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs.
