Harry is a 9-month old, three-legged Chihuahua who was handed in to us through no fault of his own. He is being fostered in Cardiff and is ready to find his forever family. Harry is fine with people and is a very affectionate little lad once he knows you. He is a bit timid at first and can be nervy when picked up. We suggest older children would be better for him, who are more aware of his small size and his needs.
Harry doesn’t like ‘in your face’ dogs but is fine with laid back ones. He is happy in his foster home and has settled well with the resident spaniel and Bichon Frise, who he loves to play with. Not tested. Harry is fine in the home, although housetraining is a work in progress. He can be left for a few hours at a time and doesn’t bark. He is very glad when you return though and will give you a tremendous greeting. He enjoys sitting on the sofa with his humans and will happily climb on your lap for a cuddle.
Harry travels well in the car, has no problems going to the vets and walks well on the lead. He does love his walks but because he is missing one back leg the remaining leg does get tired so he needs to be carried sometimes. Short regular walks are just what the doctor ordered. Harry needs a home where any children are older and gentle. He can live with another placid dog but not a puppy. He loves his humans so is happier when they are around for most of the day and even better if he can sleep on their beds at night.
Harry is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Harry in his foster home in Cardiff, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Harry please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
