If any dog deserves a loving home it’s Harry. Harry is a six year old Greyhound he was one of a large number we took in last year and even though you shouldn’t have favourites and say one Greyhound is more special than another, this little chap is a diamond. He is currently in foster with another Hound who he loves to cuddle up with, he definitely needs Hound company and his people with him most of the time. Harry’s intelligence is second to none and he would love to help with everything going on, visit places and be loved.
If Harry could be compared to anybody it would be Frank Sinatra, he is a character and a half, and is only missing the trilby and the odd cigar to round off how smooth a Hound can be. He was a huge presence at kennels, definitely the organizer and leader of everything , he liked to check his kennel blocks and his pals and help prepare food and to be a help with most things going on, the kennels are certainly different without him. Harry defines personality, intelligence and affection, he is all of these in huge amounts. Considering he spent some time after his running career ended just in kennels, his spirit is far from dulled, he shines and radiates his joy for living life. I adore him as does anybody who comes into contact with him.
Harry had at some point suffered a broken hock and so hadn’t raced for some time before coming to us, he was kept at the kennels. Harry has been to two independent orthopaedic surgeons whilst with us, and even though we are quite happy to pay for surgery, both have advised to leave the leg how it is as the injury was done some time ago. We have established whilst in his foster home by gradually reducing painkilling medicine and watching for any worsening of his movement or signs that he can manage without medication now. He is quite happy to walk, run, stand on his hind legs to peep over walls and through the window to see what’s happening outside so the hock is stable enough without surgical intervention and painkillers currently.
Harry deserves the best and more and will make somebody’s life as happy as he is all the time. He is neutered, chipped, flead and wormed and has recently had a dental. Harry would love to live with another lady Hound or Hounds but he’d prefer not to live with cats. Please consider giving this Gentleman of Greyhounds the loving home he very much deserves. Harry says please if possible, everybody share his post to find him the perfect home.
Harry is neutered, microchipped, flead and wormed and can be homed both locally and nationally dependent on a successful homecheck.
