Hastings – 4 year old male Greyhound

Hastings is a 4 year old male Greyhound. What can I say we ADORE this boy! He is amazing, so sweet, gentle and a little bit male greyhound sappy too! Whoever gets this boy is going to absolutely live for him. He is also dreadfully handsome too! Ignore the dreadful photos that don’t do him justice as they were taken late one miserable afternoon! There isn’t really anything bad to say about Hastings, he is a darling. He is currently kennelled with a female greyhound who he adores and gets on well with, she loves him too but not enough to let him share her bed. We feel Hastings most definitely would benefit from a home with other dogs, he is a little insecure at times and the confidence being paired with another dog has given him is lovely to see. Out on walks he is a bit wet at times bless him! He doesn’t like mud or getting his toes wet and has to be gently encouraged, likewise when it’s raining if he can get away with hiding in his bed he will.

We don’t envisage housetraining will be an issue with this lad as due to aforementioned weather we have seen fine examples of the cast iron bladder he seems to display! When he is walking he walks like a dream, no pulling and just leans into you for cuddles and gazes at you lovingly. Hastings also travels like a dream and just settles down to sleep. Hastings is not cat friendly and needs gentle socialisation around smaller breeds as he has only just retired from racing.

Hastings is currently with us in Stoke on Trent and can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit being carried out and all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs being willing to travel to meet him. Hastings is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, castrated and has had a dental.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
