Inca is a gorgeous 4 year old Whippet girl. She has not had an easy ride in life and is ultra sensitive. I don’t believe she has been hit, rather shouted and yelled at. So we are looking for a calm home for her. She is fine with other dogs, but in the home isnt so keen on smaller ones, especially females. She does loves the boys and would be best living with a larger steady male at least Labrador sized dog to take the lead and help boost her flagging confidence. Although she would also be happy as an only dog.
Inca is house trained, but may have the odd accident initially when settling in if she is anxious. Inca was initially unhappy travelling, but now travels well in a car safety harness, as long as she is seated next to a human. She is terrified of being caged, and gets very very distressed, so travel / sleeping in a crate is out of the question. Inca was very thin and is now putting on weight. She likes to be left to eat without other dogs near her. I believe the dogs she previously lived with intimidated her into leaving her food for them. She walks well on a lead. Has a good recall – (this has only been tested in safe locations).
Inca is not keen on cats, or rather she is far too keen on the idea of chasing them, so she is not suitable to live with them. She is sometimes a little unsure of new people entering the home, but soon makes friends and when out is friendly to everyone. Inca has met children and is fine with them, but we wont be rehoming her with under 10’s because she finds shouting and crying distressing.
Over all Inca is a lovely kind and gentle companion. She is so easy to have around. She would be ideal for a retired couple with lots of time for her and happy to give her a good walk everyday.
