India is a 4-year old Chihuahua who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is still finding his way around his foster home at the moment and is quite frightened. As it is early days we will update his write-up as time goes on but currently he seems to be more comfortable around men. India has been used to living in a multi-dog household and came to us when his owner could no longer look after him. He is finding things a bit overwhelming at the moment and appears to be under-socialised.
At the moment India is indifferent towards other dogs and will ignore them. Sometimes he can be snappy towards them but this may change over time when he is more settled. India cannot live with cats or small furries. We are looking for an adult home for India as he would not cope with children. We may consider a home with older teenagers.
India isn’t used to going out for a walk. He is unsure of how to walk on a lead and will need ongoing training in this area. In the garden any small holes will need to be plugged as he will find them! He will travel in the car but appears to stress more than usual, but again, this is something that can be worked on. India has been left for a couple of hours so far and has been ok with that. He doesn’t like to let his foster dad out of his sight though and his new home will have to manage this carefully so that separation anxiety doesn’t develop.
We are looking for a Chi-savvy home for this little chap where someone is willing to put in the time and effort to turn this boy around and help him to enjoy life. A home that is familiar with their character traits and is happy to give India a chance to settle in. India will react with a snap and sometimes a bite if people move towards him too quickly. He is uninterested in toys and is yet to play with them in his foster home.
India is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Any potential adopters are expected to travel to meet India in his foster home in RCT, South Wales. If you are interested in adopting India please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
