Ira – 3-4 year old female Poodle Cross

Ira is a beautiful Poodle cross. He is originally from Spain where he was found found wandering the streets totally matted and very nervous with people. We do not know if he was badly treated or just neglected. He spent some time in the shelter before coming to the UK last year. He has been here a few months now as he needed to be assessed and in that time he has become the most lovable boy once he learns to trust you. He is nervous however with new people he meets and will back off if he is unsure.

He walks great on a leash and is fine with other dogs. He is very small and only around 6-7 kg. He has just recently been to the vet to have his hair cut as he is not confident enough to go to a groomers just yet. His hair grows back lovely as you can see on the first pic. He will benefit from being in a home on a one to one basis. So preferably a home with no other dogs or one other dog, not a multiple dog house. He really needs someone to fall in love with him and be prepared to spend the time he needs with him and to gain his trust. Once he knows you there is no stopping him but that may take months.

We will not rehome Ira to a home with children because of his nervous disposition. He is not going to fit in to a new home immediately. So anyone interested in adopting him must have patience and understanding and preferably have experience with this type of behaviour in a dog.

If he is adopted he has to go to the right home for him, so please only apply if you are seriously interested in this lovable little chap. He is only around 3-4 years old so has plenty of time to learn that not all things and people in life are bad.

Please EMAIL in the first instance no ‘phone calls thank you.
