Jack – 4 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Jack is a male Jack Russell Terrier aged approximately 4 years old. He arrived with us from an RSPCA Inspector in a sorry state, neglected and suffering badly with skin problems. Despite all this he is the nicest little fella you could ever wish to meet, in fact I’m a little bit in love with this guy! His previous owner should be ashamed. We would consider placing him in a family with older, sensible children as he is a gentle lad. He displays terrier traits so definitely no cats or small furries please. Seems okay with other dogs.

I’m happy to report this delightful little lad is responding well to treatment and improving day by day, it is likely this is just a flea allergy left untreated, so any new owner MUST keep him up to date with regular flea treatments to stop it occurring again. Jack just makes me smile every time I spend time with him, he loves to play, (he’s ball mad) and he is affectionate when he’s not playing. He begs with both paws, then paddles almost whilst sitting up, in anticipation of the next treat or throw of his ball or toy, it really is a joy to watch and will cheer you up and bring laughter to your life everyday. He is a happy little man and loves spending time outside his kennel, he makes the most of every minute and you feel sad when he has to go back.

He does have a little training in place, he does a nice sit and responds well to food and treats, he is an intelligent lad and I’m sure would enjoy and do well with training using positive reward based techniques. He is a fun little dog to have around and anyone would be proud to be his owner. If you love Terriers, you will adore Jack; he is a fairly typical example of his breed, someone once said to me, “life is merrier with a Terrier” and this is certainly the case with our Joyful Jack!

All our dogs have a thorough veterinary health check and are micro-chipped, neutered, flea/worm treated and are fully vaccinated. They also come with 6 weeks free insurance. Home check and minimum donation of £165 applies. A securely fenced garden is a must.

RSPCA Essex South West
The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Goddard's Chingford Kennels, who board and care for our rescue dogs. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments, will be neutered, microchipped and come with 6 weeks free pet insurance in conjunction with the RSPCA and More Than insurance company. In the last eight years (to December 2012) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has re-homed approximately 2200 cats and 1700 dogs. 220 dogs were re-homed in 2013.
