Jack – 12-14 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Jack is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier of around 12 to 14 years old. Jack is fostered in Norwich (FR043). Jack was brought to us from a UK pound when his time ran out and he was due to be put to sleep. It quickly became apparent that Jack was not feeling good and his breathing seemed laboured. A vet visit revealed that Jack had early heart failure resulting in fluid build up on his lungs.

He was put on heart meds and diuretics and returned to the vet a week later for further checks. His condition had improved so the medication is going to buy him some time. We don’t know how long Jack has left but the vet feels that if luck is on his side he may have up to a year. We are looking for a place to rest this old boys weary head for his remaining life, luxury and spoiling is a must! We will pay for Jack’s vet bills.

Jack is not neutered and cannot be due to his health. He is an amiable chap who gets on well with other dogs and cats. He’s a friendly boy with people and is good with children. For Jack to be handed in as a stray and nobody to go looking for him at his ripe old age is really a tragedy but we can make his last year count for something. It’s a lot to ask but we hope that somebody somewhere will find the kindness in their heart to step up to the plate for him.
