Jacko is a very handsome black haired cross-breed boy, now around 5-6 years old, who has been in rescue since 2013 years (half of his life) and we’re desperate to find a new home to call his own.
Jacko would be best in adult home, or one with teenagers, with plenty of space. He gets very excited and boisterous when playing, and could be too much for small children. He is a very clean boy and is reasonably obedient. He would be best homed with owners who didn’t need to leave him home alone for long periods, because he loves company. He hasn’t been destructive, and is clean in the farm house where he currently lives with Mick, one of the team, and a mixed rabble of terriers.
Jacko is fine on a lead, but does a good impersonation of a steam train to begin with! He clearly remembers his days of freedom and his recall still needs a bit of work. He is also a seasoned traveler. Jacko is good with other dogs and we suspect he would be fine with confident cats after careful introduction because when he first arrived he lived in our isolation wing with another dog and we discovered a local feral cat was sharing their sofa at night.
Although based on his confidence with people and their apparel we believe he was an owned dog, it’s likely he spent his time meeting his pals scrounging and socializing on the streets of Romania, when he was caught he served ‘time’ in kennels.
Eventually bought over to the UK, he was adopted by a lady in a rural home, who sadly had to give him up due to ill health. Jacko would be happy living with, or without, other dogs, but we suspect would be perfectly happy to be the only one & have all the attention to himself.
He is in Kidwelly, South Wales if you are interested in Jacko please contact us at Lizzie’s Barn Sanctuary, via email to rehoming.lizziesbarn@
