Jake – 15 year old male Terrier Coss

Lovely old man Jake is looking for a new home as his owner was going into sheltered accommodation. He is such a sweet little guy! Despite being an older dog, he didn’t seem too bewildered when he arrived at the rescue and enjoyed a cuddle from the staff and has merrily wagging his tail! He went off to his foster home where he is settling in nicely. Jake is an affectionate dog, he is quiet and well behaved. He used to love his walks but in recent times his owner has not been able to take him out, his foster home is now getting him used to being out and about again.

We have been told that Jake is good with dogs on walks but will not let dogs into his house! His previous owner advised us that he needs to be the only pet. He is used to visiting children and is friendly with them. He would benefit from a home where someone is around for most of the day, but he is happy to be left for a few hours here and there. Jake has had a testicular tumour removed, his blood test showed his liver wasn’t functioning properly, so he is now on liver support medication for life.

Please don’t let this put you off him! He deserves a loving home as much as any other dog! Jake would be ideal for a retired couple that want a quiet, older dog for company and short walks. Jake is one of our stars and will make a wonderful companion. He just wants a home to retire to for his twilight years!
