Jasper is an approx 6 year old Springer Spaniel looking for a home. He arrived as an unwanted pet from a home who were high drug users. When dropped off he had very dilated pupils and the vet suspected that he had been affected by the drugs. After 24 hours these had passed through his system and we were able to get to know the real Jasper and start treatment on him. He had very bad skin due to a heavy infestation of fleas and this had caused skin irritation, constant itching and scabs to form from his nibbling and scratching. He also had a heavy worm burden. Jasper had never seen the vet so had never had any treatment for any of these easy to fix health issues. He was very matted and had an absolutely filthy coat (also easily sorted with a good brush out and bath).
Jasper is a dog with very few issues. His biggest problem is pulling on the lead and that he doesn’t like fireworks. He is fantastic with other dogs, loves his walks and has an excellent recall. He loves being groomed. He loves being fussed over and wants to be part of the family. He can live happily with other dogs (any resident dogs must be neutered) and also is fine with cats (but non reactive ones as I don’t want to see him beaten up!). He likes to play fetch with his tennis ball, but has no possession issues (food or toys).
He can live with children, although older kids would be better as they can keep up with his energy levels out on walks. He loves to run and play when out, but at the same time makes an excellent house dog, who is fully house trained and is not destructive. He can be left for short periods of time on his own (no longer than four hours as is our policy) and does not fret that nobody is around. He would make a great dog for a fitness fanatic, he would make a good jogging companion and would easily keep up. He is basically a dog with no issues and is just adorable!
Jasper has been castrated, vaccinated and microchipped, plus flea and worm treated. He has no known long term health issues. He will need a fully enclosed garden to run around for bathroom breaks and an owner who is prepared to walk him every day. He rarely went out in his previous home and he wishes to make up for lost time!
A homecheck will be carried out and a minimum adoption fee of £150 applies.
