Jasper is a lovely friendly boy who loves meeting new people, although it takes him a little while to gain your trust and so he can be a bit wary at first with older children he loves to play ball and share his toys. He can be a little full on with younger children, he forgets he is a bit lump, but his foster family have very young children and he is learning to take treats gentle from them. Jasper knows basic commands, including, sit, down, paw, bed and heel. He is good walking on a lead, as is his recall, he loves nothing better than sniffing anything and everything!
Jasper is crate trained and can be left for up to 4 hours, he can also be left out of his crate and will not be destructive. He can be a little over protective of his food with people and other dogs, but again this is being worked on in his foster home and further training would be needed in his forever home. Jasper LOVES WATER – he can’t get enough of it, whether a hose pipe, rolling in puddles, swimming in lakes and playing with his water bowl.
This boy once he has gained your trust is a love bug, who loves to cuddle up with you. He doesn’t get up on the sofa so you do have to cuddle up on the floor with him but he just loves these times. He is a lovely boy who does need further training and an experienced home. He is already very loyal and has a big heart – whatever you put into Jasper you will certainly get 110% back from him.
Jasper would prefer to be the only male dog in the house as he is quite dominant, he would be happy as an only dog or with a female dog. He doesn’t currently live with cats, but his previous owner has said that he isn’t interested in them, so we think with careful introductions he should be fine.
