Jaz – 2 year old female American Bulldog

Meet Jaz, she is looking for her new foster home or forever home. She is an American Bulldog around 2 years old. He has lived with cats, is a little giddy with them, but no aggression. Same with the Guinea pigs. Really likes children. Fine around horses and other dogs when she’s out . Loves cuddles and 1:1 attention, she can’t cope with sharing love which is the problem. She’s good with any other dog she’s met. She knows a good few signs and responds really well to food based training. She does come off lead when she is with me and she checks in at about 20 meters, and will wait for a thumbs up before she moves on. I have a good visual, recall sign but I’d have to show you, hard to describe.

She’s very good in the car. Loved being out. She a little nervous of new things but a good treat solves anything. She sometimes barks at new or strange things for example, an umbrella or someone with a big hat or towel around their heads. She likes to Steal socks too. She’s not food or toy possessive at all with people. She a bit off with bo at times . She’s never shown any aggression towards anyone. She does like to lick hands, I think it’s a sensory thing and a calming thing for for, with her being deaf. She needs to be an only dog, would be fine with children, in fact she’s more confident meeting children than adults. She’s a great family dog, loves going on holiday and too the beach.

She won’t ever be okay going in kennels, she wouldn’t cope. She needs someone who will be there a lot at first. She does know a sign for ” toilet ” but could wee if she’s stressed when left. She would want someone who would let her sleep where she could see them. The best way I could describe her is like a toddler, likes to try to be independent but needs to know she’s safe and that her human is there .
