Jenny – 7 year old female Cairn Terrier Cross

Meet our Jenny who is a 7 year old Cairn Terrier Cross. Jenny has been homed twice now and come back. Because of this we have put her in an experienced foster home to get to the bottom of her behaviour. Which has proved quite simple – she has been in her foster home 6 weeks now and is now ready for rehoming.

Jenny has been with the same owner all her life until he died she was found snuggled up to his body. In kennels she is a fun little dog, fine with the other dogs and people a like. When we have homed her she has been fine for a few weeks and then she starts to get her feet under the table and will give you a grumble if she does not want to do something she does not like in both the homes rather than dealing with problem they have been scared of her so Jenny has taken complete advantage of the situation where she has called the shots and her grumbling has got louder and louder resulting in the owners being terrified of her that she would bite them.

In her foster home we have dealt with her behaviour by ignoring the growling and putting her in her crate until she stopped, her foster mummy has not been scared of her and it has resulted with Jenny now not bothering, she is living with other dogs but is very jealous of them so she is going to have to be an only dog. But out on walks etc she is absolutely fine with other dogs she just does not want them in her home.

Jenny is very much loved in her foster home and if it was not for the fact that she is not great with the other bitch in the house she would not be going anywhere – she is loving, funny, very well behaved, she is great in car and off lead her recall is fab – she is very active and her ideal home with be with someone who maybe worked outside and she could truck around with them – as long as you have terrier experience and will ignore Jenny trying it on she will be the greatest dog in the world for you – she loves cuddles – I have met her quite a few times and she is very loving and friendly to me – just need someone who has been around terriers as she is very typical of the breed…
