Jessie – 8 month old female Labrador Cross

Jessie the 8 month old, Labrador cross is a very special girl who was handed into rescue through no fault of her own; she is absolutely gorgeous and will be the most wonderful family companion. She is very affectionate, she loves people and dogs and she even quite likes cats! She is doing brilliantly with her foster family; they have been very committed to her puppy training and have given her all the love and attention she needs to thrive.

Jessie has the usual Labrador traits; she is affectionate and loyal. She is very clever, learns quickly and is eager to please. Jessie loves everyone she meets and always wants to cuddle. She is still very young and in puppy mode so she is cheeky enough to try to greet people by jumping up on them and giving them big sloppy kisses but her foster family are teaching her how to greet people politely. Jessie is also wonderful with children and has loved all of the ones she has met and they have loved her back.

Jessie also loves other dogs and always has her tail wagging. She plays beautifully and is very friendly. As she’s only 8 months sometimes she can be a bit bouncy but older dogs soon put her in her place. Jessie has met two Tom cats which she is fascinated by and a little bit scared. She has never tried to chase them so we feel she would be fine being homed with a resident cat. Jessie is only just learning about walking on a lead but she has become accustomed to a harness and is getting along with it very well. However, Jessie would benefit from more training in this area and puppy schooling should be a consideration for her adopter.

In every way Jessie is fantastic, she sits, shares and waits for food. She is fully toilet trained and waits by the door to be let into the garden to go. Jessie sleeps in her crate at night happily. Sometimes she has to be tricked into going in with treats but once she is in there she sleeps for 8 hours through the night Jessie happily shares when told to “give” and sits waiting for the toy to be returned (and waiting for a good girl treat!).

Jessie travels well in the car watching the outside world go past. But she does like to be a bit silly and stick her nose into the driver’s ear or neck . Jessie is a cosmopolitan lady who takes the train into the city with her foster Mum and enjoys her time snoozing under her desk. Jessie is looking for a home where someone is around most of the time. She is currently being fostered in London E17 but we rehome all over the UK. Any potential home will be expected to visit her in her foster home. Jessie is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
