Jimbei – 2-3 year old male Japanese Akita

Jimbei is a male Japanese Akita around 2-3 years old he was due to be destroyed and “Dogsfriends” were called at the last minute to take him in. Jimbei is very large even for an Akita and is a very impressive looking dog , he can be a little distant when he first meets you but has come to trust his carers at the kennels . We were told that Jimbei could be dominant however we have established ourselves as Alpha from the beginning and we have never seen him display this behaviour.

As Jimbei came in as a stray he is untested with children and we would not home him to a household with children under 14 years old or with another male dog. He walks well on the lead and is good around traffic and loud noises he doesn’t pull towards other dogs or people in fact considering his size he is very easy to walk .

He will need to be homed somewhere with experience of the breed or large guarding dog experience (he will not be homed as a guard dog) and preferably within 100 miles of the North Somerset area . Jimbei will be neutered before homing and is up to date with his jabs as well as being micro chipped . Minimum donation required all adopters will be subject to home checks
