Joe
Meet Joe, he is an 11 month old castrated male Labrador Retriever that was brought back to Bath Cats & Dogs Home in October 2007 after only six weeks as his owner was ill and unable to look after him. Originally Joe arrived in early August as a stray.

Young and active Joe has endless energy so will need someone who can give him plenty of exercise and stimulation. He is very friendly to everyone he meets although can be excitable and a little over the top at times. Enjoying his walks he is very playful on the lead and tends to pull, so needs further lead work and the use of a halti.
Joe knows a few commands but will definitely need further training as he is extremely boisterous, however he is eager to please and very food orientated so shouldn’t be too difficult to learn new commands. He adores playing, loving his toys; is crazy about his food and is an extremely greedy eater, always looking for more!
Joe would suit someone who can be at home with him during the day as he is still very young and has become a little destructive through boredom moving his blankets around, so has been crate trained to help; however, is calm and quiet when left for short periods.
Joe tends to bark at dogs when first introduced, however has been mixed successfully with some dogs, proving to be playful with the more boisterous kind. He needs a home without cats as he chases them and with the right training Joe will make a fantastic family pet, however would probably be better to be homed with children aged 14+ due to his boisterousness. Joe loves to be the centre of attention and is definitely a people dog, enjoying all the fuss.
Can you offer our youngster a new active home where he can have fun?
