Joey – 6 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Hello there everyone, my name is Joey a 6 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross and I am one of Animal Care’s longest residents. I have been here since 6 June 2006 and when I arrived I was 3 and a half years old. I am desperate for a new home as I haven’t been very well lately and I just want someone who will love me and look after me when I’m not feeling too good. I am a very happy lad, who always gets very excited when someone comes to see me and can occasionally get a little giddy. It’s just that I’ve been here such a long time that being with someone new is just so exciting. I love going for walks and playing with my toys. In fact there’s not much I don’t like doing really. I am just full of fun and want to live my life to the full which I haven’t been able to do since I’ve been here. A while ago I started having fits which was and still is very frightening. I am so scared when I am on my own and I have one, as sometimes I can’t see properly after it. I have had tests and they think I might have something called a brain tumour. I don’t really understand what that means, after all I’m a dog, but I know I would feel so much better if I was with someone who would look after me and most of all love me.

Please ask one of my human friends on reception all about this brain tumour thing and they will tell you all about it and tell you what a wonderful boy I am. They might also tell you a couple of my bad points but I promise if you take me home I’ll try not to be a bad boy at all! I would love a new home where I can get plenty of exercise and playtimes and most of all love.
Every day I hope that today might just be the day someone falls in love with me and takes me home forever and ever. Paws crossed that day comes very soon and I can feel safe and loved for the rest of my life. Woof, woof, woof Joey
