Joop

Joop is a 4 years old Dobermann cross, he came in to Battersea as a stray so we do not know anything about his past, he appears to be undersocialised and is worried by new people and in new situations. Due to this Joop may take time to adjust and settle in his new home, patience and understanding is needed with this boy.

Once he knows you Joop is a sensitive, friendly and active, he will make a fun addition once bonded to his new owners. Experienced owners are needed, knowledge or experience of Dobermanns or nervous dogs would be an advantage. Ideally Joop is looking for an all adult household, he is too nervous to live with children.

Unfortunately it appears Joop has had little or no training and guidence in the past, new owners will need to dedicate time initially to his training, this includes housetraining. Joop is active in body and mind so will need plenty of stimulation. Once settled Joop could be left for short periods. Joop is social with other dogs but can be chase orientated around smaller dogs, he could possibly live with a confident and social female that will be a good friend and role model.

Joop is a true rescue dog needing dedication, if you feel you can offer this handsome boy the home he needs please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443 or come in for a registration interview.
